The Danish indie darling releases a new single “Soda” February 21, prior to the release of his debut album ‘Crush’ and a small DK tour which brings him to Aarhus and Copenhagen.
Favor releases the new single ‘Soda’ which shows another side of the songwriter Jeppe Gade, who is behind the alias Favor, and how he once again manages to create his very own sound and playful lyrical universe. This song is an indie-latin song about addiction seen through the eyes and mind of a 7-year-old. ‘Soda’ is taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Crush’ which is out March 27.
About “Soda”:
“I believe the most terrifying thong about not being a child anymore is the constant addiction that lurks around every corner. I see myself and my friends becoming obsessed with work, relationships, nights out and social media. I’m tired of heart palpitations and the constant ringing in my ears. ‘Soda’ is my naive and childlike look back in time, to a time where innocence ruled and before I had a taste of adulthood,” Jeppe says.
Favor released his debut single in 2018 and was shortly thereafter asked to support the Norwegian pop-sensation Sigrid. He has released two EP’s, the latter “404, Friends and Lovers” to much acclaim from Danish and international music blogs. It also included three songs (out of five) which debuted on the biggest National Radio station. ‘Wiki’ was also included on Spotify’s tastemaker playlist “Fresh Finds” and has continuous airplay on radio stations from London to Mexico City.
lyrics
Baby when I got a taste of that soda
When I woke up I felt seven years older
Bubble bursting everytime I’m feeling
I remember keeping cool - you were burning
A little taste and the room started turning
Back at the Birthday party with 12 year heartache
I Know I Know I Know I Know
You’re just a honey bone
I Know I Know I Know I Know
mmmmmm
Popping it up you feel so damn good
Drinking it down you’re going round round round
We’re going out with a Bacardi and cola
Sugar high so I lean on your shoulder
Your perfect perfume I’m back for more
Popping it up you feel so damn good
Drinking it down you’re going round round round
Popping it up you feel so damn good
Drinking it down you’re going round round round
I Know I Know I Know I Know
You’re just a honey bone
I Know I Know I Know I Know
mmmmmm
Popping it up you feel so damn good
Drinking it down you’re going round round round
Popping it up you feel so damn good
Drinking it down you’re going round round round
