Favor finds company on air with his lockdown single:
RADIO IS COMPANY

Under his moniker Favor the Danish songwriter Jeppe Gade has previously released two succesful EP’s and the acclaimed debut album ‘Crush’ which was released only a few days into the first covid-19 lockdown in Denmark. 



Acknowledging that the debut album was given the worst possible conditions from the get go. All of the planned promotion activities was cancelled over night and all the concerts and summer festivals disappeared in the blink of an eye. Instead of just waiting it out Jeppe went back into the studio to record new songs. 



“For the past couple of years I have always tried to keep my eyes on the prize and maintained a high release rate. Every minute in the studio had to result in new music. With this song it was different. I texted friends and family if anyone wanted to join my social bubble to create music. My dad was the first to accept my invitation.” - Jeppe Gade (Favor)

This is how singer and fellow labelmate Astrid Cordes, bassplayer and songwriter Daniel Brandt (Christopher), producer and songwriter Morten Soegaard (Masasolo) ended up with Jeppe’s dad in a studio in Copenhagen.

Radio Is Company was born out of sheer joy and happiness of just being together with other people doing what we all love. At the same time it also came out of wondering about loneliness and what we all did not do to not end up alone.

“We had all noticed how our grandparents always had the radio on. My grandad once told me that he never felt alone when the radio was playing. It suddenly felt like the perfect image of the present situation.”

In July the Danish music magazine Gaffa made a list of the best Danish albums that were forgotten during the covid-19 pandemic. On this list was Favor’s debut album ‘Crush’. It turned into more singles in radio rotation and placement on big Spotify playlists eg. Fresh Finds, and Favor was also selected for the cancelled SPOT Festival lineup for 2020.
