Indie pop artist Favor releases his web romantic EP ‘404, Friends and Lovers’, which includes the song ‘Chemistry’, a brand new duet with
Astrid Cordes from the Danish indiepop duo Shy Shy Shy.

Behind the alias Favor we find the Danish singer and songwriter Jeppe Gade. He debuted in 2018 with the synth infused debut EP ‘Lightweight for the Heavyhearted’. He is now ready with his second EP ‘404, Friends and Lovers, which will be released on October 18 via Celebration Records. According to himself it ended being some sort of conceptual album even though that was never intended. It just happened.


Jeppe elaborates: “When we finished the last concert from touring with the debut EP I felt a massive emptiness. I had been surrounded by people and suddenly that stopped. Missing the social life that touring can be I had to find my way back into writing new songs and it turned out to be pretty lonely. In that emptiness it is easy to be distracted by your phone or computer and I began to wonder about why that is and who these people are and how they live their life? All the songs on the new EP ended up being about these questions about identity and the labels we give each other.

After an intense period of touring the Danish musician invited his liveband into the studio thus beginning a new chapter with a new sound and direction. The synth-infused songs are gone and Favor now has a more organic indie-pop sound which really suits Jeppe’s songwriting.

The 5 tracks on the EP are the singles ‘Girl (You Got Me Good)’, ‘Call My Name’, the new single ‘Wiki’ which recently had its radio debut on Danish National Radio P3, and the two new songs ‘PC Screen’ and ‘Chemistry’ which is a duet with singer Astrid Cordes, who is currently on a farewell tour with the succesful Danish pop duo Shy Shy Shy.


About collaborating with Astrid, Jeppe says: “ I wanted to make the recording of this EP a collective process inviting people in to collaborate with. It just felt right having more people involved this time. Astrid is an amazing singer and songwriter and I told her that I had this idea for a song which I described as “indiepop meets Grease”. We finished the song together and I am really pleased with the way it turned out. The song is about mistaking chemistry for infatuation.

Since his debut Favor has supported the Norwegian pop sensation Sigrid on Vega, performed at various tastemaker events in Denmark and played festivals at home and abroad. The new single ‘Wiki’ premiered on the biggest channel on the Danish National Radio. Music Injection from Australia raised the question “Is Favor the next big artist of 2019?” Favor has previously been compared to The 1975, Benny Sings and Kindness from UK, and Alphabeat and Suoperheroes from Denmark.
